At this one day glass slumping workshop, your artist, Marina, will welcome you with a coffee or tea and a quick tour of a working glass studio. With a vast array of completed works on display you will see the amazing scope of this art form and be truly inspired for the day s projects. Your workshop then begins with an overview of safety procedures and an introduction to the tools and equipment you will be using. The day is mostly hands-on punctuated with instructions and demonstrations to move you through the program which includes: * Suitable mould materials. * Patterning your glass * Making a mould for your platter * Glass cutting practice * Cutting your platter * Using the glass grinder At 1pm we take a break and enjoy a light 3-course lunch, which will give you a chance to take it all in and to share and compare with fellow classmates in a relaxed atmosphere.
