Bausch & Lomb won't honor REBATE

byjaguar030 Feb 6, 2012
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Price it without rebate if you won't honor
Cons Stiff lenses, if you've worn Acuvue, these are much stiffer and hurt my eyes.
Recommended it? No

"I ordered 4 Bausch & Lomb boxes, largely due to the advertised Bausch & Lomb rebate of $70. I submitted all the information on line and then sent in the receipt and rebate application and doctor exam invoice on 10-7-11. After still not having received the rebate, I called and spoke to B&L who say... Read full review »

The Price of Convenience

Pros Can sleep in them, weekly cleaning, a pair lasts 30 days
Cons Comfort diminishes quickly after a week or two.
Recommended it? Yes

After trying a few different brands and make of contacts two years ago, I found the Bausch & Lomb PureVision to feel the best. Being a first time wearer, I found all of them have some kind of discomfort, but the PureVision felt the best.

I was informed that they last for 30 days and that... Read full review »

PureVision Equals Pure Torture.

bychelledun Mar 1, 2009
37 Helpfuls 38 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros They don't tear much.
Cons I feel like I have a plank in my eye.  Perpetually.
Recommended it? No

These particular contacts were recommended to me after I griped about the frequent rips and tears I was sustaining with my prior disposable contact lenses.  My optometrist assured me that thicker PureVision contacts would be less comfortable on the front end but better over time.  Six months later... I am returning these to the optometrist

bydelicatexan Aug 24, 2008
3 Helpfuls 4 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Clear vision
Cons Nearly impossible to insert
Recommended it? No

I was just prescribed contact lenses for the first time in my life--one for near sightedness and one for farsightedness. The contact lens specialist first tried Acuvue which did not produce clear enough vision. Then, she inserted the PureVision which provided the best vision. However, I have had... Read full review »

Pros let more oxygen in
Cons make eyes feel dry, feel too big in the eye, feels like there's something...
Recommended it? No

I normally wear acuvue color contacts or Bausch and lomb soflens 38s. But my eye doctor suggested to try soft purevision lenses because they let more oxygen in, blahblah and are better for the eyes.

I tried them longer than most people would have put up with them. For almost an entire... Read full review »

Bausch and Lomb Purevision: Seeing in a different light

bymql1208 Jan 21, 2008
11 Helpfuls 12 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Comfort and stellar vision
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

I am now in my forties and have been wearing contacts since I was 13. Way back then, I was wearing hard lenses which required a great deal of tolerance and care. When I was 13, I possessed a great deal of tolerance (anything to avoid glasses!). My correction is distance, no astigmatism.

Exceptional Vision, Very Good Comfort

bycolinbc Dec 3, 2007
6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Excellent Vision and Very Comfortable
Cons Easy to get them inside out and hard to tell which side is which
Recommended it? Yes

It should be noted, that I am wearing contacts for monovision, which means one eye for distance, one eye for close-up. As well, I suffer from dry eye due to corneal problems that required surgery on both eyes. As a result, my OD would only prescribe silicone hydrogel lenses, of which there are... Read full review »

Hate these lenses!

6 Helpfuls 7 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros None
Cons Very uncomfortable, dry easily, do not clean well
Recommended it? No

These lenses aren't even comfortable right out of the package. I don't see how you can even use a fresh pair for a full week...let alone a month. They always look like they have particles on them even after cleaning and rinsing, rinsing, rinsing!

I've been wearing them for over a month... Read full review »

I have been wearing contact lenses for many years. Some contact lenses have been better than others, but none caused me the problems that PureVision has caused.
I went to my optometrist in mid 2006 for a contact lens fitting. Since I had been having problems with my previous lens drying out... Read full review »

Cons Expensive.

And was blown away! When I first read about them on the internet, I was skeptical that they would dry out with the increased oxygen, and have a lot of discomfort.

But hey, I was wrong. I put them in with no problem! Unlike my old Acuvue Oasys lenses, which were painful to put in. The... Read full review »

Pros Cost is low
Cons did not last 30 days Thicker lens irritated me
Recommended it? No

I have been wearing contacts for 12 years now. Acuvue has been my brand up until i went to different doctor and he gave me PureVison.
They are thicker and so they would get pulled around in my eye more. I did sleep in them a couple times but I could not stand it they would literally glue to my... Read full review »

Pros Clear vision and after adaptation, really comfortable. Very easy to handle.
Cons Uncomfortable at first. Rather stiff and thick. Rather expensive.

After my failed attempt at Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism I thought I'd give these lenses a go - I knew that Silicone Hydrogels would be much healthier for my eyes. Initially I thought they were quite uncomfortable but I've kept going with them(I've now been wearing them for around a year) and they... Read full review »

Better than Night & Day

bybiggrigg Jan 30, 2006
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros 30-day continuous wear Comfortable Less protein build-up
Cons Pricey compared to "regular" disposable contacts
Recommended it? Yes

Focus Night & Day contacts had some sort of patent claim that resulted in them being the only contacts approved by the FDA for 30 day continuous wear.

Apparently that patent issue has been resolved, because Bausch & Lomb Purevision contacts are now another alternative.

Cons Price is only drawback, but worth it. I paid $45 for a 3-month supply.

I suffered from dry eyes from medication. I also stared at a computer all day and that strained and dried them out. These contacts have been a life saver! no more dry, tired eyes! Breakthrough in contact lens technology

7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Comfortable, great clarity, no fogginess/haziness
Cons NONE

I've tried a few different contact lenses over the past few years, and nothing has worked well for me. When I wear contacts, they tend to "fizzle out" before the day is over, drying out and becoming foggy/hazy. I've been using a trial pair of PureVision for a few days now, and they've been amazing...
