Here's some trivia for you. A skuttlebutt was the source of drinking water on a ship back in the day, so now the label on this wine will make sense. Made from the Portuguese grape varieties of touriga nacional and tinta cao, its show lots of fleshy black and red berries on the nose with hints of spice . The palate is dark, ripe and brooding with those black fruits coming through again with the soft, eathy spices, and just a hint of fruitcake. It finishes soft, dry and savoury, and would match well with bangers and mash.
