The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM is a lightweight, compact L Series telephoto zoom lens with Image Stabilizer. The optical Image Stabilization in the new EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens provides up to an incredible four stops of shake correction-a first for Canon IS lenses. The use of fluorite UD lens elements provides excellent optical performance in terms of resolution and contrast. These features, together with its water-and dust-proof construction, provide both the performance and portability to meet user demands.

The Bottom Line: If you need a fast zoom in the 70-200 range, save the money and buy the Canon. You cannot do better.
Review: Probably most of you reading this review are familiar with the amazing reputation of Canon's 70-200 L zoom lenses. I have used all but the F4 IS variation, and am here to say the reputation is well-earned.

Review: Yes it is heavy but only a few outings with it will make you a believer. The shallow depth of field at F2.8 gives portraits beautiful background blur but excellent sharpness. F2.8 also makes focusing easier for me in low light. I add a 1.4x extender...
