What The Romans Did For Us

Date of Review:  May 27, 2005
The Bottom Line: You like strategy games and want to buy a new one, this is it!
Review: Rome: Total War is the latest installment in the Total War series of Real Time Strategy games. The previous incarnations, Shogun TW and Medieval TW were brilliant games, does Rome deliver the same standard of quality?

As you'd expect the...

Caesar missed something when invading Britain

Date of Review:  May 16, 2006
Review: I bought Rome: Total War, knowing that it would be an excellent game. I loved Medieval: Total War and I am truely interested in Roman History, so this game truely appealed to me. After having RTW for about one and a half year, i can say that Rome:...

Rome total war; a winning battle or a total disaster?

Date of Review:  Feb 14, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you like to just go in and blow every thing up this is not your game but if you are a fan of chess then this is your game
Review: Rome total war caught my interest by the first preview that I seen. I had never played a total war game before this one and was I ready for it when I seen the first screen shots. I was amazed by the amount of troops that you could have on just one...

The Flawed Genius of Rome Total War

Date of Review:  Jan 8, 2008
The Bottom Line: It's been out for a few years now, but it is still the best strategy simulation I have ever played.
Review: ROME: Total War is one of the most engrossing strategy games I have ever played, and I can admit to spending more than a few hours attempting to subjugate the various factions of ancient times. I had been looking for sometime for an in-depth...

All roads lead to Rome. Some to frustration.

Date of Review:  Jul 24, 2005
The Bottom Line: If you're a fan of the series, or have enough patience to deal with the Campaign Mode's shortfalls, you're bound to have fun with the battles.
Review: For the armchair general, nothing hits that sweet spot like the Total War series. Where games like Command and Conquer and Starcraft focus on a small group of overpowered units battling it out in small-scale combat, Total War has embraced the exact...

I love this game

Date of Review:  Sep 19, 2005
Review: I've been playing Rome: Total War for a few months, and I still love it.

The customs battles are great for a quick fight. The campaign reminds me a lot of Civilaztion and Lords of the Realm.

The graphics are great too.

I couldn?t help but conquer the world.

Date of Review:  Oct 22, 2004
The Bottom Line: Great strategy game for fans of the genre in an oversaturated market. Casual gamers may want to think it through before a purchase.
Review: Rome: Total War (RTW) is actually the only game that has come out these past few months to receive a 9.0+ score from Gamespot and IGN.com, the two major gaming sites on the web. Given that, since I ve been in a drought for good PC gaming, I decided...

Oh, Gods, the sleepless nights...

Date of Review:  Jan 10, 2005
The Bottom Line: A great game at a great price. Just don't have anything else to do for the next couple of nights!
Review: I love strategy games, but they all have one failure: Lack of depth. Any game can make it hard by drowning you in enemies, making you control 500 units or micromanaging the last cent of money out of the NPCs so you can't compete.

But, Rome...
