One of the best shooting games of all time

Made by Bungie, makers of such games as Myst and Oni, made Halo. Myst was a popular game but when they released Oni, no one cared. This is what they needed, a game that would be a launch title that they would work on for years. This game is known has Halo. Halo, a first person shooter, is absolutely fantastic, and although some may say that it is a run-n-gun, there is definitely a huge deal of skill to it. As we see how long the release of Halo 2 was delayed, we get an idea on how long they took perfecting the original.

Gameplay:10/10 Halo is nearly flawless and honestly, Halo is the Goldeneye of the xbox.

Single player:10/10 Halo has a long and fun single player mode that spans many levels and has many difficulty levels that a lot of people will want to go back and play again. The game takes place somewhere in space, and master chief has to stop a race of aliens that are building a giant ringshaped weapon called Halo. At about fifteen hours for single player it is hard not to recommend buying this game. It is such a thrill ride from the beginning to the end and also has co-op which is done fantastically and I love doing.

Single player pros: Long and fun. Great weapons and great looking alien creatures. Co-op is extremely fun to play with friends. Runs at a very smooth pace.

Singple player cons: I think that the pistol is a little too powerful.

Multiplayer:10/10 Wow, now this game has amazing multiplayer. Customization of gameplay and fun levels have made me repeat playing Halo's multiplayer over and over again. Overall, I have probably clocked in about 30-35 hours on the multiplayer alone and it is easily one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time.

Multiplayer Pros: Great customizations and weapons. Smooth, fantastic sound.

Multiplayer Cons: Once again, the pistol is too powerful and is honestly, most people would do better with it than with the sniper rifle.

The Graphics: 9/10 Fantastic player and alien models make for some of the best graphics on the xbox launch title list.

Sound: 10/10 You will constantly hear the aliens speaking, in English strange enough, and they sound great. The guns and explosions will make you want to turn up the surround sound and are just fantastic even by todays standards.

Overall: 9.6/10 This game is absolutely amazing and is still fun. The gameplay in the single player beats that of Halo 2, and the multiplayer is just about as good as Halo 2. At the cheap price that Halo is at now you need to buy this!
