I had been researching HDTVs for months and finally decided on the LG. The first time I saw one at the store it just jumped out at me with a wonderful bright, clear picture. When it hit the right price during a Thanksgiving weekend sale I bought it and I have been thrilled.
I've had the TV 5 weeks now and have had no problems with it. It was simple to set up. I'd say it took about 20 minutes to take it out of the box, attach the stand, and connect my Satellite box, DVD Player, and VCR. It certainly has plenty of connections - more than I need with 2 sets of RCA, Component Video, and HDMI as well as a place to attach your computer.
Even before I had HD programming from my Satellite provider I was impressed with the picture quality. Once they came and hooked me up I was blown away by the crystal clear picture. It was so great I found myself not paying attention to whatever I was watching - I was so amazed at the quality of the picture.
The menus and settings are very easy to navigate and there seem to be more than enough ways to customize the picture and sound to your liking. I have been very happy with the preset options but it's nice to know I could customize them if I wanted to.
The sound quality is also very good - much better than I was expecting. I am very happy with the sound just through the TV speakers. The nice thing is the TV itself has audio out plugs so you could route the sound directly from the TV to your sound system.
The TV comes with a remote that is kind of old-fashioned looking and clunky compared to the universal type remote that came with my satellite box. Although once my new box was hooked up and that remote programmed I haven't used the TV remote so it really doesn't matter.
All in all, a great TV that I would recommend to anyone looking for a LCD HDTV.
