Poor build quality, AWFUL customer service

The Bottom Line: Although LG has produced an HDTV with very nice picture and sound, the poor quality, painfully long repair process, and awful customer service tell me that LG should be avoided.
I had this television for only 5 months before it broke (there is sound, but no picture). One month and three repairman visits later, the TV is still broken. LG customer service is simply awful. They have given me the runaround in trying to get this television fixed. They will do *anything* to avoid replacing a lemon, and have no qualms about making a customer take multiple days off from work so they can continue to make futile attempts to repair a television that is obviously beyond repair (they just keep trying to replace the same part over and over, somehow thinking that *this* time will do the trick). In addition, trying to get useful information on the current status of the repair process is like pulling teeth. The people at the customer service center just read their prepared scripts about their non-flexible repair/replacement process. They do absolutely nothing to accommodate a customer who has been seriously inconvenienced. It's really a shame too, because the picture and sound quality on this television was very nice. But it doesn't do any good if the product is unreliable, and worse, unable to be repaired in a reasonable period of time. As the saying goes, "buyer beware".
