Leica C-Lux is Deluxe way to go into digital
Date of Review: Dec 1, 2007
The Bottom Line: The best of the best photography brands makes the best digital and film products, its that easy straight logic.
Leica C-Lux 2 was the first and the only digital camera that would convince me to give up film photography for my trips and vacations. I still take film camera places from time to time but my Leica C-Lux is always with me no matter where I go. And there is not too much effort needed to take it places, it is smaller than some cell-phones, measuring only the size of a regular tri-fold wallet, it is a snap to pack and go. This was the original reason why this model of Leica showed up on my shopping list in the first place. I was looking for portability and extremely high quality optics in a digital camera. With Leica s exceptional reputation for high-end lenses and photographic equipment I decided to give it a try and I was never disappointed. The computer software that comes with my Leica is easy to install and run, it has online support and easy application for both PCs and Macs. This camera performs on both close-ups and various distance shots. It takes excellent photos with standard automatic mode but it does have options to add to the effect. Even more worthwhile to mention that it takes short but high quality movies. With 4GB Storage Card, I am able to keep quite a few movies on my drive. This was a nice bonus feature and a step up from a Film Camera. I was always afraid of giving up film photography, Leica C-Lux was a nice way to merge.
