Where's the midrange?

by   chrismc_us ,  Jan 8, 2009
Pros: Loud!
Handy control unit with volume, bass and power control as well as a headphone jack.
Cons: Absolutely no midrange.
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for sound quality look elsewhere. These might be loud and boomy, but so is a tornado siren!
Review: After reading many, many great reviews of the Logitech Z-2300s, I decided to purchase a pair. Afterall they are THX certified and have everything you need - an 8" subwoofer, excellent wired controller with master volume, subwoofer and power controls as ...

Loud Bass Does Not Equal Good Sound

by   hardballsurf ,  Nov 18, 2008
Pros: None
Cons: Muddy sounding bass.  Unclear Mids and Highs.
Review: If you want loud, boomy, and completely muddy sounding bass, then these speakers are for you.  I purchased these speakers, hooked them up, and listened to a variety of music.  The sound was absolutely horrible.  I couldn't disconnect them ...

Best 2.1 speakers.

by   shadowjump ,  Aug 12, 2008
Pros: Good Quality Nice Design Subwoofer very powerful Very good treble Almost no distortion
Cons: Could use a better controller than the wired one and with more settings.
The Bottom Line: Get this if you want loud and crispy sound. If you re not after almost perfect sound go for something cheaper.
Review: I had the Logitech X-230, quite cheap. When I installed the Z-2300 I clearly saw a difference in the sound quality. The bass has more feeling and the treble is awesome! Using them a full day with many kinds of music, Rap, R&B, Salsa, Trance, Tribal ...

Excellent speakers

by   adamdude14 ,  May 2, 2008
Pros: Very good overall sound, great looks and build quality, easy to use, THX certified.
Cons: Satellite ports are fake, subwoofer is occasionally a bit sloppy, weak lower mids.
The Bottom Line: I recommend these to anyone who appreciates good sound and enjoys playing games and annoying their neighbours!

Great Speakers, Fairly Cheap

by   abby1345 ,  Feb 18, 2008
Pros: Easy set up, good sound, looks good
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: I would get these again in a heartbeat because they offer great sound and are easy to use
Review: For the longest time all I had were my laptop speakers. While there were ok there was a limit on how loud I could get my music. A friend of mine had to older version of these speakers and he loved his, so I decided to pick a set on my own. It was well ...

Fantastic Speakers!!

by   ajsmith7 ,  Jan 3, 2008
Pros: Remote, color coded wires, THX certified, they look great, fantastic clarity/balance
Cons: Huge bass (not necessarily a con since the bass is controllable), hard wired front speakers
The Bottom Line: If this is the price range you are working with, you can't do better than this set of speakers. They are fantastic!
Review: First thing's first, these are some great speakers. I bought them because I heard they were the best, and so far, I cant disagree with everything I've heard. They look great, sound great, and are easy to use. When I first plugged them in, I ran ...

Top of its class

by   thegsrguy ,  Dec 30, 2007
Pros: Conservative styling, tight bass, accurate sound, good midrange
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: The Z-2300 does not disappoint. At $150, no one can come close to matching the sound quality and value.
Review: Let's be honest here -- there are two types of computer speakers: cheap and tinny, and pricey and clear. Unfortunately, most of us know computer speakers only as the lousy little $30 systems that came bundled with the computer. Electronics retailers seem ...

No Detail in the Sound

by   brjones ,  Dec 20, 2007
Pros: Removable grilles, improved ergonomic & connector design over previous models. Rubber, not foam mids surrounds.
Cons: Level of detail discernible from these speakers is very low for how highly they're rated.
The Bottom Line: For people who want loud and boomy, with not a lot of detail at any frequency, this box is perfect! Better-sounding solutions are (must be!) available in smaller packages.
Review: CORRECTIONS: In my review below, I speak of having multiple negative experiences with Logitech. While this is true, some of those I have now learned were with Labtec devices, which I confused with Logitech--most importantly for this review, I ...

teeny bopper blaster

by   johnfatum ,  Oct 5, 2007
Pros: they work
Cons: their sound is silly
Review: I bought these speakers on the advice of a sober-speaking salesman. They work but sound grotesque. The bass is exaggerated until you turn it off, and then the speakers sound empty. The sound is loud and crude, or quiet an dead. Unless you dream about ...

Superb!

by   chengbin ,  Aug 25, 2007
Pros: Pristine clarity, small, POWERFUL, loud, stylish, cheaper than all other high end computer speakers.
Cons: Boomy sub, bass only extend to 35Hz, no tweeter(still speakers produce fantastic treble) short cables.
The Bottom Line: Just buy it. Overall, this speaker is better than the other high end computer speakers. See comparison section in my review
Review: This is an updated review on the Logitech Z-2300 after a heavy break-in and some additional information. If you don't want to read the whole review. I can sum it up right here. It sounded fantastic for a computer speaker system. BUY IT. When I ...
