Nice all around phone and PDA
Date of Review: Apr 5, 2009
The Bottom Line: I would definitely buy this phone. It competes with other multimedia phones and is a good value.
The Motorola Q phone is a great all-around personal digital assistant and personal multimedia player. It's great for listening to MP3s, watching the movies, and surfing the net with.
I love the keys on this phone because they're easy to use when distracted. No guessing since they're raised! The QWERTY keyboard feature is great too.
Email is easy to set up thru pop, or to access from the web. Not all web applications work (google geo maps doesn't and neither does Pandora or other audio sites), but this phone accesses the internet quick.
The mini usb connector makes this phone a cinch to sync with your computer and transfer files without removing the phone's memory card (and you WILL want to get a larger memory card).
Picture and video quality are okay, but don't expect this phone to do very well in low light. Taking pictures slows down this phone, and it does not do very well taking many pictures at once, even if you have the memory card storage capacity.
The slim profile makes it easy to fit in a pocket when you want to travel light.
The screen on the Motorola Q is easy to read, although it glares in high light.
If you have it set to check Outlook email often, don't expect your battery to last very long.
