Ds Lite: An opinion of a novice
Date of Review: Jan 29, 2008
The Bottom Line: I liked it. Portable and fun..it will get you through a boring day!
I am no video game guru. I lack the hand/ eye coordination of the masters, my shooting skills suck, I'm easily bored by RPG's and well I have the sportsmanship of a 4 year old boy. But i decided against my own judgment to invest in a little bit of entertainment and was pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased with the Nintendo DS Lite.
So easy even Michelle can play it
First thing i would like to say is the game controlling is nice. With all the consoles i get so confused with what button means what. Dang it i just want to have the guy jump when I push one button! You know like the old Sega Games! The DS is simple. Buttons are nice & easy, the stylus is wonderful. I like that you have options. I bought the covers for the screen because I did not want to tarnish my new found nugget of joy. I can not really compare the system to many other systems since my knowledge is limited. I do enjoy the stylus option a lot and it makes the DS seem more classy than the game boy.
Games
There seems to be more games readily available and more of a variety of games for this unit. There are of course Game Boy Advance games you can choose from which expand your options. I enjoy that fact immensely. If i am going to pay 100 dollars for something i want to be able to have some flexibility in the things i am able to play.
Overall
I am not expert nor do I pretend to be. I find the system enjoyable, worth the price, and fun to play for the novice and probably the expert. With the wide range of games the hours of fun are endless.
