Versatile with great results; study the manual!

by   skaizun ,  Mar 19, 2009
Pros: Great "feel"; "simple" setting is ideal; surprisingly high quality pix!
Cons: Sometimes confusing manual is absolutely required to figure out how some things work.
The Bottom Line: I was looking for a good "starter" camera,
but may make this my "no-need-to-look-any-further" camera!
Review: As a long-time Nikon F2 (SLR) user, I was searching for a digital SLR camera under $300 with many features, including min 10x zoom, fairly easy to use without needing a physics degree, and  easy to recharge.  This camera fit all my ...

Terrific camera, great value

by   frogman12345 ,  Feb 6, 2008
Pros: easy to use, great battery life, reasonably compact
Cons: not as versatile as an SLR
The Bottom Line: great camera for the enthusiast at a great price.
Review: This camera does everything it's intended to do, and it does it well. It's a sort of compromise between the tiny point and shoot models that fit in your pocket, and the full blown SLRs, and I've found that's a really sweet spot to be as far as value ...

Great camera with a lot of features!

by   jensen5569 ,  Dec 13, 2007
Pros: Super zoom, fast, easy to use, rechargeable battery pack, inexpensive
Cons: Won't take my 4GB SD card (won't read high speed?)
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent value for a novice user. Easy to use and feature-full!
Review: I did quite a bit of research on this camera before I purchased it. At the time, there were only a handful of cameras out there that had 'super zoom' features at a reasonable price. I was very surprised to find this one (with 12x optical zoom) for ...

Excellent Camera!

by   domino8 ,  Aug 31, 2007
Pros: optical image stabilization, 12X zoom, high sensitivity mode, simple mode
Cons: no zoom in video mode, 16 MB card
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent camera with a very good Leica lens.
Review: I have this camera in silver. I received this camera for my college graduation in July 2006. I did a lot of research on cameras, and this is the one that I picked out of about 10 different models. I have been very happy with this camera. I have taken ...

Panasonic DMC-FZ7

by   borance ,  May 19, 2007
Pros: Extreme battery life. Very large optical telephoto for the money.
Cons: Difficult to see either through the viewfinder or with the LCD screen.
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it because it's too difficult to view the image through the viewfinder or on the LCD screen.
Review: I am disappointed in this camera. When in zoom mode the viewing picture, either through the viewfinder or the LCD is very unclear. I was in Costa Rica trying to shoot monkeys, birds etc. high in the trees. I could see them with my eyes much, much ...

I LOVE this camera!!!

by   smoggy123 ,  Apr 2, 2007
Pros: Brilliant picture quality with an instruction booklet that ACTUALLY makes sense
Cons: The memory card supplied is pants
The Bottom Line: Ease of use, with enough scope for a pro
Review: This is about the 4th digital camera I have owned in the last two years...I can't remember the 1st, but the 2nd was a Nikon 3100....last week I bought a Fuji Finepix E900 and was majorly disappointed with it, so back it went. Anyway...I finally ...

Pretty darn good little camera

by   kcmoldybt3 ,  Mar 23, 2007
Pros: Compactnes, lightness, accurate exposures, very little lag, great macro in good lighting, fast accurate focus
Cons: Weak built in flash,no hotshoe for external flash, high noise level in low light.
Review: This is my second Lumix. I sold FZ20. I didn't like the lag problem, the poor low light performance and the power consumption required that I carry a spare fully charged battery. With the FZ-7 the lag problem is cured, the battery lasts longer but the ...

Excellent Camera

by   mdbrown ,  Mar 17, 2007
Pros: Huge feature set, great lens, super zoom, opt. stabilization
Cons: Overly aggressive noise reduction, no zoom during movies, low res LCD
The Bottom Line: Great features that can compensate for the noise reduction and a great lens. I am extremely pleased with this camera.
Review: I will preface this review with the statement that I am not a seasoned photographer but I have had quite a few digital cameras over the last 7 years. This is my 2nd "superzoom" camera, the first being a Fujifilm S3100. This camera surpasses the Fuji by ...

Great quality camera for the price

by   smartmomsine ,  Mar 16, 2007
Pros: The hanging quality lens, no zoom on the movie function and primitive editing program.
Cons: Great zoom, amazing image detail and excellent movie quality.
The Bottom Line: This a great camera, with excellent zoom, great picture quality, and amazing movie feature. Great for many skill levels.
Review: I bought this camera three months ago at Amazon.com, and so far I am very pleased. The camera seems to be of such great quality, and it really has a professional feel to it. It is lightweight, and it fits very well in my hand. Because of the kind of ...

MY DREAM CAMERA!!!

by   lisah3233 ,  Mar 11, 2007
Pros: Flash recovery time short, pop up flash, easy menu settings
Cons: Lens cap needs a holder to keep in place, some aberration. (sp?), short lived battery
The Bottom Line: Awesome camera, great price! You can't go wrong with an easy to use camera that takes spectacular pictures. Even greater for a mom or dad.
Review: With four kids, I've always wanted the perfect camera at a price someone with four kids can afford. I found it! It has a great zoom so when I want to sneak up on them if they're doing something cute, I can. It will snap picture after picture with ...
