Don't fall for the hype...
Date of Review: Sep 8, 1999
...like I did. Read some professional reviews and critiques and thought it couldn't be as bad as they say. Well I want my $49.95 back. I am an old coot and I have been installing games since inserting game carts into Atari consoles, SIN takes the prize for most trouble during install. I have a pretty standard system and it has held some pretty big games and sims. During the install SIN crashed the OS twice. After a third try I finally got it stuffed onto the hard drive. I thought I would give the game developer the benefit of the doubt and started to play. The opening sequence animation began to strobe even though, according to the SIN manual, I had four times the recommended RAM and twice the recommended CPU power and compatible 3D card I still had strobing problems. So time to restart, when everything comes back the strobing has stopped. So I begin playing along and checking out the graphics(about the only thing I liked) and the gun sight freezes up mutants are about to kill me and I can't fire back even though ammo is full and weapon is drawn. Then the Fatal Error window comes up and I reboot again. The gaming pretty much continued on like this until frustration forced me to learn a lesson and move on. So, game developers if you are reading this all I can say is "Beta Test, Beta Test, Beta Test, before you release!"
