Epinions Life insurance, or PS3...? Heart surgery, or PS3...? This week's rent, or PS3...? PLAYSTATION 3!!!

by  ChromeKiller, top reviewer in Games ,  Sep 6, 2007
Pros: The games (MGS4, Echchrome, etc.)! The HD technology (Blu-ray, high-caliber graphics, etc.)! Home "free" Home!
Cons: Most quality games late to the party. Its price may put you into cardiac arrest.
The Bottom Line: The PS3 is quite costly. But if a bum like me can afford one with only a couple paychecks, a Wall Street tycoon like you can certainly do the same.
Review: "Who knew?" That's what everyone used to talk about. Really, who knew that a giant of the electronic industry could topple competitors long entrenched in the video game wars not once, but two times in a row? Certainly not Nintendo, who stood atop their ...

Epinions Incredible machine, with best feature set of all next gen systems.

by  tigerous,  Jul 4, 2008
Pros: backwards compatibility, free online play, built-in HDD & wireless options standard, largely future-proof, best value
Cons: limited library, differences in backwards compatibility can be confusing, most expensive initial cost
The Bottom Line: For hardcore gamers, the PS3's the best choice for overall features/value. More expensive initially, the long-term cost is lower than the 360 & offers more variety than the Wii.
Review: I am a self-proclaimed gaming addict. So, I've never been one limit myself to any one system. I currently have all the next gen consoles (Wii, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3)on the market. There are a few major differences between each console that, in the ...

The Bottom Line: Great Blu-Ray & DVD player, game console& media center!Price now $499
Review: Why Playstation for a Blu-Ray Player? Well, I purchased the Playstation 3 about a month ago because I had made the decision to go with the Blu-Ray (BD)format. I intend to get a BD burner for my PC so that I can author BD discs of my HDV ...

by  nate45espada,  Aug 9, 2008
Pros: the best system for its money, and with free internet that is just another plus.

The Bottom Line: get this system you will love it and spend hundreds of hours on it having fun.
Review: Overview: I have had the ps3 going on a year now and I have to say it has the best graphics, games and features than any other system that is out now. When I got the system I got it for gaming but now I use it for several things like pictures, music, ...

Epinions Top of the Pack

by  siriusrocks23,  Dec 13, 2007
Pros: Game Variety, Bluray,7 other processors, free online play, and an unbelievable high defenition experience.
Cons: Expensive, but have come down in price, could use more 3rd party games.
The Bottom Line: This console has an open network, which will allow downloadable mods for games like UT3. The currnt selection is more than adequate for any gamer.
Review: So far I have read how it is only marginally better than the graphics put out by the other machines. This is due in part to its later release than the Xbox 360. Personally I love this console I have 22 games. Games like Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Unreal ...

Epinions utilizing the PS3 to its maximum

by  babetta29,  Jan 20, 2008
Pros: You can surf the web, download demos games, get hints, tricks and lots more.
Cons: The games are pricey for this system. So I would suggest to rent games first.
The Bottom Line: I recommend purchasing this unit. All it has to offer makes it a great bundle for entertainment for all ages.
Review: Our experience with this unit has been great. We love this unit due to the awesome graphics, wireless capabilities and use abilities. The blue-ray disc player capabilities are great and we use it regularly. It has brought gaming to a whole new level. It ...

Epinions Little Machine of Wonders

by  scrappydoo_,  Dec 17, 2007
Pros: Outstanding graphics, Wireless controllers, New games
Cons: The pricing is sky-high, put out new games too slowly
The Bottom Line: Whether you are a casual or devoted gamer, you would have lots of fun with the PS3. Especially if you're wallet can handle it.
Review: The predecessor, the playstation 2 has served me well. It has come back from the dead too many times for me to count. Granted, the thing was held together by nothing more than my own sheer will to play with it. Literally, its screws are gone, the ...

Epinions Playstation3: None Better

by  jmwsandan,  Jul 30, 2008
Pros: Excellent video output (both gaming and BluRay), easy to use.
Cons: Initial cost (this has come down as it always does).
The Bottom Line: If you have the money and necessary HD equipment, this is a must have!
Review: Sure it cost me a considerable amount of money and I had to wait in line for hours to get one, but once I got it home and plugged it in, it was well worth the wait. If you don't have a HDTV, don't bother reading further. I have seen them on regular TV's ...

Epinions A Triumph of Technology

by  angelsdagger,  Feb 20, 2008
Pros: Fantastic graphics, quick loading and excellent controller
Cons: The console takes up a bit of space
The Bottom Line: Get it! Got it? Good! You have to get this console, it's amazing.
Review: From the second the rather large and quite heavy box was opened I was in awe. It is a beast of a machine and I managed to get my hands on the 60gb version. For the gaming geeks - the machine boasts a 512mb memory purely for graphics and system ...

Epinions The Playstation 3 is Worth EVERY PENNY!

by  jaguarxj220i,  Aug 27, 2007
Pros: Multi-regional, Reasonably Priced, Blu-ray, HD, Card Reader, Massive Hard Drive, Wireless Enabled
Cons: Some compatibility issues with old PS1 and PS2 Games, Not many games available
The Bottom Line: The gameplay and detail on the PS3 is excellent. It has been worth the wait. It would be wrong to criticise PS3 until you have tried it.
Review: The long awaited Playstation 3 is finally available in all stores and prices are steadily decreasing. I bought the PS3 as an upgrade to my previous consoles (The PS2 and Nintendo Wii). Being a heavy gamer, having the latest and most popular games ...
