Not worth your time

Date of Review: Nov 17, 2006

Picked up Zeus as a combo deal when I bough Pharoah for a decent price. I ended up selling it at the local thrift store and was happy to get the $5 back that I did.

Graphics
The first thing that stuck out in my mind were what crappy graphics this game has. I've played the Caesar III and Pharoah line of games, and this thing sadly disappoints. I mean it felt like I was playing Sim City.

Gameplay
The basic gameplay of these line of games (Caesar/Pharoah/Zeus) is a mix of city building and limited combat. You build up your city starting from a blank map trying to meet certain goals. Unlike Caesar/Pharoah religion plays a much larger role, however not enough to keep the game entertaining.

Entertainment
Zeus fails to deliver, i quickly shelved it to go replay Caesar III and Pharoah. It simply fails to intrigue and even the most concerted effort to play quickly died making me long to play even a fishing game.
