RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100 Smartphone

This is a great toy and productivity enhancer. Standalone, its just a smartphone but the applications make it a very useful tool. Google apps (gmail, reader, maps, news, docs and *sync*) lets you sync your contacts with gmail and gmail contacts, which is really nice (though the app is flakey when first installed).
I found Flickr useful as well, to get pictures uploaded asap.
The phone switches on in my pocket quite frequently - sometimes I just forget to block it. The pearl navigation tool is fantastic but beware of the sand (pockets ... sic!).
This thing takes a lot of punishment.Have it now for more than 2 years and it keeps going strong.
