Great Phone
Date of Review: May 18, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would recommend the pearl to any blackberry lover. It is easy to use and functions as needed.
I have been through several different phones lately and this one has been my favorite. It is a great phone (it still has a few minor problems but all in all it is awesome). Its trackball is a great navigation tool and a great idea by RIMM. The Pearl is the first time that Blackberry has included a camera on its phone and while it isn't the best camera isn t he world it can still be good for capturing moments on the run. However, even with the camera, there is no video capability and there isn't any multimedia messaging without having the blackberry package. The modified qwerty keyboard looks relatively difficult at first but it is very easy to learn to use after a week or so. The keys tend to get worked in though and can be very unstable after a while but even this is not a huge problem. The actual programming of the blackberry is very simplistic-not something I liked personally as I enjoy the more complex programming but for some this could be considered a plus. Also, when changing themes the text will change-a little quirk that I did not really like. Last, because it is a blackberry there are many applications that can be bought and downloaded to upgrade it somewhat and personalize the pearl to function as you need it.
