Most KVM switches come with multiple features. Some of these are described below.

Scroll Mouse
This function supports mice with wheels, such as the Microsoft IntelliMouse.

KB/Mouse Emulation
The switch emulates, or imitates, these devices. This prohibits controlled PC's from detecting the disconnection of any of the emulated devices, allowing the system to continue uninterrupted.

On Screen Display
This is a menu that allows PC selection directly from the console monitor.

Keep Alive
In the case of power loss to one device, this feature provides power from other connected computers to allow you to finish working as normal.

Hot Pluggable
This allows any devices (such as a keyboard, mouse, or PC) to be connected without disconnecting power or resetting.

Daisy Chainable
This feature allows switches to be connected to other switches in a chain-like form in order to expand the total number of controlled PCs.
